The West Seattle Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us as Port Commissioner Courtney Gregoire shares insights, a State of the Port, at a luncheon in Jack Block Park. The Port of Seattle is one of the region?s leading economic engines, providing over 200,000 jobs and over 9 billion in wages. Learn about the Port?s role in our local economy, the new Northwest Seaport Alliance with the Port of Tacoma and plans to modernize Terminal 5 to get big ship ready. |
Speaker: Courtney Gregoire Position 2 Current Term: 11/27/13-12/31/15 Current Office: Co-President Courtney Gregoire works as a senior attorney in Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit, where she fights technology-facilitated crime against vulnerable populations including children and the elderly. Elected to the Port of Seattle Commission in 2013, Courtney currently serves as commission co-president. Commissioner Gregoire's priorities include growing our regional economy, expanding international trade and tourism, and protecting our shared natural environment. These priorities reflect Courtney's long-standing commitment to helping communities generate broadly shared prosperity through improved education, quality employment and increased trade opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses. Before returning home to Washington State, Courtney spent nearly 10 years working in Washington D.C. in senior-level positions in both the legislative and executive branches. Courtney graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Willamette University and received her law degree from Harvard Law School. Originally from Olympia, Washington, Courtney currently lives in Seattle with her husband Scott Lindsay and their two children. As a family, they enjoy taking in our state's natural beauty by hiking in the North Cascades and boating throughout Puget Sound. |
