Finding Balance in our Busy Lives
Mindfulness tools you can use during the workday
We all want balance! But the reality is each day we have many competing demands on our time and energy, and it can be hard to find the space to take a breath and recharge. What if there was a simple practice you could do to create that space?
In study after study, mindfulness practices show clear benefits in a wide range of areas, from greater relaxation to increased focus and engagement. Danielle Sewell has graciously offered to introduce us to the concept of mindfulness, and give us a "taste" of mindfulness by taking a quick look at practical tools and exercises that you can use to recharge during your day. Some potential benefits of using these tools include: Ø Reduced stress at work Ø Improved balance between work and personal life Ø Better focus and concentration Ø Stronger ability to handle difficult situations Ø Greater sense of ease and engagement in all areas |
Danielle Sewell, business faculty at the Seattle College District and a Seattle native, has led many workshops, trainings and retreats for both the public and private sector. Danielle also has nearly a decade of mindfulness and meditation experience, and first began leading mindfulness groups while at MIT's business school in 2012. Danielle has seen enormous benefits from mindfulness in her own life and enjoys sharing this practical tool with others.
On March 14th at South Seattle College, Danielle Sewell will lead a 3 hour workshop on "Mindfulness Tools You Can Use During the Workday" (click here more information on this South Seattle College workshop). |
