SUMMARY:WSC Luncheon 2014.06 - Hone the Message in Your Web Presence
DESCRIPTION:This will be a "learn by doing" program and we'll have one critical exercise. You will walk away with at least one do-able or implementable idea. \n\nLarge business or small business\, it does not matter. You have to have a web presence to survive and you must be good at it to grow. Your web presence can be your web site\, facebook page\, linked-in profile\, twitter feed\, blog.... There are many options and the one thing we know is to speak to your customers online it takes time and money. What you say or don't say can determine if the person reading your web site\, your Facebook page\, etc will become a customer. Your web presence is all about content.\n\n\n\nWho is the best person to give you good advice? It's all well & good for a content person to talk about content\, but what about business owners who aren't in the media industry? The ones who have a retail or service business? \n\n \n\nWeighing in with their own experiences\, the Chambers' own Shannon Felix co-owner of Avalon Glass in Luna Park and Tamara Gillest\, owner of BendnMove studio near North Admiral. \n\n \n\nShannon shares what she's found to work for her as a do-it-yourselfer on social media (Avalon Glass is active on several platforms\, including a social commerce space called Etsy)\n\n \n\nTamara tells what it's like for her to work with a local social media pro. What it takes\, how it works and suggestions about what you might look for if you decide you might like some help in the content arena.\n\n \n\nWhat else will be covered? Wendy Sloneker of xow media\, llc\, a Content Pro\, has some specific education to share about the Internet and how to best harness it for your business's web presence. Including: \n\n\n	\n	What works & what doesn't work\n	\n	\n	Suggestions for starting small\n	\n	\n	How to keep the process of producing content manageable & consistent\n	\n	\n	How to look at and look for your ideal customers online\n	\n	\n	and more.\n	\n\n\nWendy Sloneker: A freelance writer since the late 1990's\, Wendy was most recently trained at the American Writers & Artists\, Inc. persuasive online copywriting course in Austin. Also\, she earned a certificate in Social Media Technology & Implementation at UW in 2012.
