SUMMARY:WSC Luncheon 2014.11- Vince Lorrain Tips for Preparing 2015 Business Strategy
DESCRIPTION:Before you start writing or fine tuning your 2015 Business Strategy\, "Step Back to Go Forward" at our November Luncheon\n\n\n\nIn November\, every person needs to dust off their Business Strategy to fine tune for 2015. It may be the strategy for their business or it may be their personal business strategy. Finding the time to step back and review is one problem. Knowing the elements you should consider can be another problem. The objective of the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce November Luncheon is to send you home with a place to start\, the questions you should ask yourself when determining changes\, additions\, or deletions to your 2015 Business Strategy.\n\n\n\n Vince Lorrain\n\n"Running a business can be very rewarding\, exciting and fulfilling. It can also be very difficult\, frustrating and time-consuming. Some business owners (not the majority) seem naturally suited to running a business. Others have to struggle and persevere. If you're like me\, sometimes I think the hardest thing about successful business management is to get out of my own way. Too many times\, as I have reviewed my past business decisions\, I've discovered that\, in fact\, I was the one who had made things unnecessarily difficult. Business success can at times be simply a painstakingly slow process of eliminating what doesn't work. And yet some business owners move toward "success" much more quickly and efficiently than others. It's that "quickly and more efficiently" attribute that we would probably all prefer define our business activity and that is the basis of my talk.\n\n Teaching math and coaching football at West Seattle High School\, after graduating from the U of W\, was actually the beginning of 3 different careers for me. Owning several different businesses along the way and experiencing varying levels of success has been tremendously instructive. The ideas that I will present in my talk are the very things that I wish someone had told me (or that I'd had the sense to ask about) . . . . way back when. " -- Vince Lorrain
