This long time family company has roots that extend back to the 1890’s when R.D. Merrill came to the Pacific Northwest to establish timber holdings. In 1993 Merrill Gardens was conceived when the company purchased a retirement community in Seattle, Washington. In 20 years, the company has grown to become one of the largest and most respected senor living companies in the country. Merrill Gardens is still a privately owned family run company; Chairman Charlie Wright is a fourth generation Merrill family member. In 2010 Merrill Gardens entered into a joint venture agreement with long term partner Health Care REIT.
