About Us

We are the People of the Inside, dx?d?w?abš and we are still here. After our village site and longhouse was burned down by settlers over one hundred years ago, we now have our new Longhouse built in 2009. We are located along the Duwamish River on West Marginal Way just across from our original village site. The Duwamish Longhouse is home to our ceremonial room, Tribal offices including the office of the Honorable Tribal Chair Cecile Hansen, gift shop and museum gallery. On October 9, 2021, we opened our new, permanent exhibit, Spirit Returns 2.0. Come see the new exhibit that houses the hat of Chief Seattle, artefacts and sacred objects.
