About Us

Emerald Home Inspections was founded early 2022 by Ryan Ostler. Ryan was introduced to home building and renovation by his father at a very young age. His first major experience with construction was in 2015 when he moved to Central America. There he spent over a year with his parents building a multi-cabana bed and breakfast located on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize. This experience cemented his interest in home building and renovation. It also served as a foundation for his extensive knowledge of home systems – a key trait for performing quality home inspections. Ryan is certified by the American Home Inspectors Training program, and has earned his Certified Professional Inspector designation from InterNACHI® (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors).

Ryan’s professional background includes finance, small business start-up, customer service, and property & casualty insurance. When he isn’t renovating his West Seattle home, you can find Ryan in the garden, on a hike with his dogs, at the beach, or on the lake.
